State chamber to hold annual congressional luncheon

June 22, 2009 - 10:14am

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Congressional Luncheon on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter in Perry. A reception will begin at 11:00 a.m. with lunch following at 12:00 noon.

This year’s luncheon will include a salute to Georgia’s military as well as a panel discussion featuring Congressmen John Barrow, Sanford Bishop, Nathan Deal and Lynn Westmoreland and highlighting key federal issues of importance to the business community.

“There has never been a more important time for the business community to be engaged in federal issues,” commented George Israel, Chamber president and CEO. “From unionization to health care, carbon taxes to the federal deficit, decisions are being made in Washington that will affect the bottom line of every businessperson in our state. This year’s luncheon will be an opportunity to hear a first hand account from several leadership perspectives.”

The Congressional Luncheon is one of the Georgia Chamber’s premier annual events and hosts over 1,000 guests and elected officials from throughout the state of Georgia.

Sponsors of this year’s event include Delta Air Lines, Boeing, Georgia EMC, Lockheed Martin, The Macon Telegraph, and The Coca-Cola Company.

Sponsorships and tickets are still available for this year’s luncheon at www.gachamber.com or 404/223-2264.
