RECOVERY FROM TERRORIST ATTACKS / FIGHTING TERRORISM

Fought for First Responders - Fought for the necessary funding to give our military and first responders the tools and resources that they need to get the job done.

Fought for the Syria Accountability Act - Fought for and made statement in the Congressional Record supporting the Syria Accountability Act (HR 1828), requiring the president to impose a number of economic and diplomatic sanctions against Syria if the Syrian government fails to end its support for various terrorist organizations, refuses to eliminate its weapons of mass destruction and fails to withdraw its forces from Lebanon.

Supported Iraqi Debt Forgiveness (H Res 198) - Supported a resolution expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that France, Germany, and Russia should work with the World Bank, the European Union, and other multinational organizations to build a debt forgiveness program for Iraq to aid in matters concerning its reconstruction.

Fought for DeKalb County Funding - Fought for DeKalb County's request for $2 million in homeland security funding.

Fought for Robbins AFB - Requested that Robbins AFB be chosen for the site of the new Intra-Theater cargo aircraft facility.

 

INTELLIGENCE FUNDING

Fought for Intelligence Authorization for FY04 - Fought for the Intelligence Authorization for FY 2004 (HR 2417), which authorizes classified amounts in FY 2004 for 14 U.S. intelligence agencies and intelligence-related activities of the U.S. government -- including the CIA and the National Security Agency (NSA), as well as foreign intelligence activities of the Defense Department, FBI, State Department, Homeland Security Department, and other agencies. It includes funding for Human Intelligence, Counterintelligence/FBI Reform, Analytical Capabilities, Information Sharing, and Financial Surveillance.

Fought for Diversity in Our Nation's Intelligence - Fought for the Amendment to HR 2417 that directs the CIA director to establish a pilot project to improve the recruitment of ethnic and cultural minorities and women to meet the diversity of skills, language, and expertise required by the current intelligence mission. Yea - Agreed to by recorded vote: (Roll No. 318).
