     Fought for Estate Tax Repeal - Cosponsored the Permanent Repeal of the Death Tax (H.R. 8) to make permanent the estate tax repeal that is scheduled to expire at the end of 2010. Bill passed House.    

Fought for Fair Tax Treatment - Cosponsored H.R. 1134 to amend the tax code to provide for the proper tax treatment of certain disaster mitigation payments. Became Public Law No: 109-7.        

Fought for Middle Income Taxpayers - Fought for the Tax Relief Extension Reconciliation Act (H.R. 4297). The legislation urges conferees to accept the Senate provision extending the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT), which primarily benefits middle income taxpayers, instead of the capital gains and dividend tax. Insists that the federal deficit not be increased in any year. Became Public Law No: 109-222.
