Recent Legislative Accomplishments

 

 

     

    Supported Water Conservation - Supported the Twenty-First Century Water Commission (H.R. 135). The commission set up by this legislation would project future water supply and demand; study all government and private water management programs; and develop recommendations for a comprehensive water strategy. Bill passed House.

     

    Supported Alternative Fuel - Voted for the H-Prize Act (H.R. 5143) authorizing $110 million for use by the Energy Department to create a program offering cash prizes as incentive for technological advances in the commercial use of hydrogen energy. Bill passed House.

     

    Supported World Water Day - Supported H.Res. 658 expressing agreement with the goals and ideals of World Water Day. Bill passed House.

Water/environment/planning - Dougherty County-City of Albany - Section 205 Grant - Environmental Impact Study of Flint River - $250,000

 

River Revitalization - Dougherty and Muscogee Counties - Corps of Engineers Apalachicola, Chattahoochee, and Flint River Revitalization

 

Research - Consortium for Plant Biotechnology Research, St. Simons Island (works with ASU) - $3,000,000
