Bishop fights to keep payments to cotton, peanut farmers

Google Wire Alerts - As reported in the Kansas City Star Newspaper, Southern lawmakers are pushing back against a proposal in the Administration's budget that ends compensation to cotton and peanut farmers for storage costs when they hold back on selling crops until they can net better market rates.

Bishop celebrates the New Year at Shiloh Baptist Church

Albany, GA- Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. celebrated the new year at a special service hosted by Reverend Horace Boyd and Shiloh Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia.

 The service commemorated freedom from slavery 147 years ago and the  in Albanysigning of the Emancipation Proclamation.

Shiloh Baptist Church was the first to host mass meetings with various civil rights organizations and is located directly across the street from the Albany Civil Rights Movement Museum and the Albany Civil Rights Institute.
