Agriculture

The Second Congressional District is home to thousands of farmers, whose work product constitutes a vital part of the American economy. Farmers, simply put, feed, clothe, and house America. The Second District of Georgia produces more peanuts than any other district, well over 25% of all peanuts produced in America. In addition, cotton, soy beans, tobacco, pecans, watermelons, wheat, and produce are among the many crops grown in the district. Livestock and poultry also play a significant role in the agricultural economy of the district. Farmers and agriculture are an enormous part of the district.
